Importance Of Water In An Anti Aging Lifestyle

Repost This Article

If you are wanting to live an Anti Aging lifestyle, one of the key factors will include drinking seven to eight glasses of water every day.  Our body is about 60-70% water and it is really important that we keep ourselves hydrated so that our kidneys work efficiently and toxins are removed from our blood stream.  Continually drinking water is very important because:

  • Water is needed for the production of saliva
  • Water transports oxygen to your cells
  • Water transports nutrients to your cells
  • Water helps us digest food
  • Water helps our kidneys function by flushing out the waste
  • Water helps with the passage of faeces out of the body
  • Water helps us regulate our body temperature
  • Water protects our organs
  • Water protects our joints
  • Water protects us from disease
  • Water helps us to not get sick
  • Water helps us lose weight
  • Water helps us exercise better
  • Water is just good for us!

Anti Aging – Elixir of Life

Water is considered to be the elixir of life because many of us who keep our water intake at good levels for Anti Aging keep our skin and organs hydrated.  Water is important in our body because:

  • Muscle is 75% water
  • Blood is 85% water
  • Brain is 90% water
  • Bone is 23% water

It is important that cells in your body, especially your skin cells are kept hydrated so they do not undergo too much stress by being dehydrated.  If they are suffering from waterloss then they will age and over time your skin will become wrinkled.

Urine Color

When drinking water you need to be sensible about how much you are drinking at a time and also need to consider environmental factors.  The color of your urine is an excellent indicator of how hydrated your body is.  Your urine should be a pale yellow color.  If it is darker you are dehydrated and the effect on your body could be:

  • Tiredness
  • Headaches
  • Muscle cramps
  • Constipation
  • Dry skin
  • Kidney problems

Overhydration though is also a problem with symptoms including:

  • Confusion
  • Drowsiness
  • Blurred vision
  • Muscles cramps

If your urine is:

Pale Yellow – this is perfect!

Clear – you are drinking too much water and are overhydrated;

Yellow – you have been sweating and not drinking enough;

Dark Yellow – you are dehydrated.  Yellow urine can also be caused by liver problems;

Orange – this is usually because you eat a lot of carrots and also have a high intake of Vitamin C;

Brown – this can indicate that you are seriously dehydrated, but also can be a indication of some serious conditions such as liver disease, hepatitis, melanomas or copper poisoning.  Urine can also be brown if you recently had a laxative or have eaten fava beans;

Green – this usually indicates a urine tract infection, although it can be caused by medications, bile problems or a high intake of Vitamin B;

Blue – this is usaully because of a high intake of calcium or a psuedomonas bacterial infection;

Red – there are a number of reasons why you can have red urine including blood, some foods like beetroot and lead or mercury poisoning.

It is not hard to keep your body hydrated and having a water bottle near you at all times so you can sip throughout the day is advisable.  It is best to try and drink water which is free from chemicals to receive the most benefit for Anti Aging.

So, there is no denying it, water is really important for Anti Aging as it keep your cells hydrated and minimizes your wrinkles. Are you drinking enough water?

Natural Anti Aging Tips

Repost This Article

Natural Anti Aging is an extremely easy process which doesn’t require too many sacrifices.  Some of the tips given below can be done immediately, while others require a long-term lifestyle change.  The key is to reduce your stress, increase your fitness and luckily some of the most effective ingredients for maintaining a healthy lifestyle are … natural!

Mental

How old do you feel?  Are you 80 and feel young and gorgeous, or are you 40 and feel like a worn out, used up and tired old person?  The first step is to change your attitude and have a mental picture of who you want to be.

Diet: Eating and Drinking

Try to eat meals with lots fruit and vegetables.  Meals should be freshly prepared and cooked and balanced with a good balance on the plate.  Choose foods which are high in anti-oxidants and have essential fatty acids.  Meals which are high in fat may increase the chance you will get wrinkles.  Our bodies are made up of 70% water so it is extremely important that you drink plenty of good quality water.

Skincare Products

One of the best things for skin care anti aging is to stay out of the sun.  Sun exposure can cause wrinkles and sun spots.  Using sunscreen is extremely important.  Make sure the sunscreen protects against both the UVA and UVB rays and is free of toxic chemicals.  Don’t just rely on sunscreen either.  In addition to sunscreen here are some more sun smart ideas:

  • Limit your time in the sun by avoiding sun exposure in the middle part of the day when the sun’s rays are the most intense
  • Wear protective clothing: long sleeved shirt, hat and sunglasses
  • Try and stay in the shade if you are outside

If you want to use a Natural Anti Aging cream on your skin the good news is that the most effective ingredients in creams for skin care are already natural.  Choose creams that contain vitamins, minerals and botanical ingredients instead of the synthetic ones.  Anti-oxidants such as coenzyme Q10, green tea and vitamins C, E, and A are fantastic as they repair the damage caused by the sun and pollution.

Elastin and Collagen are also common ingredients in an anti aging cream and can help with those wrinkles around the eyes and other parts of our bodies which develop as our body’s age.  Exfoliate your skin regularly so that you remove the top, dead layer of skin to reveal the fresh and younger skin and to stimulate skin cell growth.

Fitness

An enjoyable and maintainable exercise program is very important so that you keep to it and want to do it.  What may be good for one person is not necessarily going to be good and enjoyed by you.

Lifestyle

Avoid smoking and being around people who smoke.  Smoking can accelerate the aging process of your skin and cause wrinkles.  In addition to the effects on your skin, the consequences to your internal health are widely documented.

Make sure that you get enough sleep every night so that your body has time to rejuvenate and produce hormones such as ‘human growth hormone” so that your skin stays thick and doesn’t wrinkle.  Cortisol (which is a hormone which breaks down skin cells) levels can increase if you don’t have enough sleep, also causing wrinkles.

Reduce Your Stress

Don’t feel guilty because you aren’t doing all of the above Natural Anti Aging points – guilt leads to stress.  People who meditate or who maintain a low-stress lifestyle do look younger than your years.  If you a prone to stress, a very good relaxation technique is to press your thumb into your solar plexus point (located just below the ball of your foot) and hold for one minute, then repeat on the other foot.

If you like the idea of not having to buy expensive cosmeceutical products and enjoy healthy living, then a Natural Anti Aging regime will be relatively easily to manage and incorporate into your lifestyle.
